Heather Avera
Honored In 2013
Heather Avera currently teaches Math at the JISD Compass Center, and was voted Campus Teacher of the Year for 2013. As a true advocate for her students, Heather is not afraid to challenge the status quo to ensure that her students have the most opportunity to benefit from their lessons. More importantly, she has a passion for working with at-risk youth. She truly cares about their academic progress as well as their personal successes. Her husband, Bill (JHS class of 74) surprised Heather with this award at JISD Convocation in August. Both are Inspiring Indians!
