Frank Richard Brown

Frank Richard Brown (JHS Class of 1968) was nominated as Influential Indian by the Former Texas Rangers Association and Foundation. Ever since Mr. Tucker Smith's Texas History class in Junior High, Dick had a great interest in Texas History. Through this interest, he developed contacts within several established Texas institutions. Dick was commissioned as an Admiral of the Texas Navy by Governor Rick Perry in 2004, and served as a director and then president of the Texas Navy Association. He is a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and past president of the Thomas Rusk Chapter in Dallas. In 2009, he was elected a director of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation, and served in that capacity for five terms. He is a Captain in the John B. Jones Masonic Ranger Company, and the Chairman of that organization. Dick also held several offices in the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas, including District Deputy Grand Master, and Chairman of the Texas History Committee. He is a 33rd Degree Mason, and a Shriner.
